HOW WE ARE IMPLEMENTING CHANGES IN OUR PRACTICE DUE TO COVID-19
3/31/2020
We remain open and are following CDC guidelines and recommendations including strong infection control practices by performing “distant visits” to assure our clients that their needs are not forgotten during this time of social distancing.
We agree with and fully support the limitations that are imposed on visitors to assisted living communities and skilled nursing homes.
We are following the same guidelines for our home care clients.
Being mindful that we can be carriers of the virus without symptoms, we would not take the chance of potentially exposing our most vulnerable clients to illness. We also want to be assure our clients are not feeling isolated from the care they need.
Most care coordination and support can be accomplished over the phone to connect clients and their families to resources for home delivery of groceries or prepared meals, medications, supplies and other necessities.
We are providing telephone check in calls with our clients to monitor health condition and will maintain contact with physicians as their offices are closed for routine visits. We are exploring options for TeleHealth visits with physicians in addition to other technology aides to keep in contact with family and friends… STAY TUNED for more on this soon!
We are making some “porch-side” deliveries of needed items that cannot be ordered online for items and for items in which delivery times are extended.
If your pharmacy does not deliver, we can continue to coordinate and deliver refills of medications, along with any other over the counter medications or items from the store.
If care is needed at home, we will help to hire and coordinate the very best professional caregivers for you.
We are in constant contact with our home care partners to monitor the health of their caregivers and availability to work as well as the agency’s infection control practices to assure we are doing all we can to mitigate the risks of caregivers entering the homes of our client’s.
We are also in contact with the assisted living communities to stay informed of their availability of open apartments and if our clients are in need of a move to a more supported setting, we can arrange for a respite stay and coordinate the move.
We also have access to connecting you to excellent live-in caregivers to minimize the ongoing risk of multiple caregivers entering your home.
In the event that one of our clients begins to show signs of illness, we will be in touch with their PCP and follow their guidance to arrange for evaluation and care needs.
If you have any questions about our services or resources during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out with a phone call.
